Bamburgh Castle Wedding Photography with a special four legged guest...

Now we will openly admit…we weren’t sure that a Castle Wedding was really “us”


Hear us out! We photograph soooo many gorgeous little city micro weddings, or countryside barns and outdoorsy venues, that we haven’t ever photographed a wedding in a Castle before! So when Hai got in touch to say that, after many a date and venue change, they had finally settled on Bamburgh Castle…we were so excited, if not a little intimidated! So imagine our faces as we drove up to it! Towering above the beautiful Northumberland coast, the building is such a spectacle and we were absolutely blown away! How many times do you get to witness a wedding in a historic building? We love museums so it was amazing to see the ceremony being set up right in the middle of all of the beautiful artefacts and art work...

Once the museum rooms were closed to the public, Hai was walked down the aisle by her mum in the amazing Kings Hall. Hai’s mum flew all the way from Singapore for the wedding and having not seen each other for over 3 years, you could feel how proud she was to be there! Hai & Joe got to say their vows surrounded by their friends, family and most importantly…their lovely doggo Coffee!

That’s right…the Castle is dog friendly! Could this place get any better? Oh wait it did because we got to take the newlyweds down to the beach for their portraits while guests mingled and enjoyed a drink on the Battery Terrace. We both LOVE the coast so getting to do portraits on the sand dunes was so much fun! Joe was wininng ultimate husband points for carrying his wife…heels in sand is not easy work!

Now one beautiful wedding dress is usually enough, but Hai actually had two! Her mum brought a stunning red dress with her on her flight and so before the evening reception there was a quick change of outfit and a few sunset portraits.

And as if allllll of this wasn’t lovely enough…Hai & Joe had opted for the ultimate seaside meal for their catering…a fish and chip van! What a perfect way to end the day!
