Bex and Mike’s wedding at Mayfield Farms was one of those days that just felt SO effortless. It was filled with love, laughter, and so many personal touches that made the day uniquely theirs. From their laid-back woodland ceremony to their lively barn party with a surprise brass band, every moment was pure magic—just the kind of day you absolutely want to be a part of! So if you are looking for woodland wedding inspiration...you are in the right plave!

Getting Ready
The day started with Bex and Mike getting ready separately, surrounded by their closest friends. Bex spent the morning with her bridal squad, getting glammed up and enjoying some pre ceremony together. It was one of those mornings where the energy was full of excitement, a few nerves but nothings a bit of laughter, some bubbly, and a banging playlist couldn't help with!
Meanwhile, over with Mike and his groomsmen, the vibe was all about getting the ceremony space ready, a few pre ceremony beers, and getting suited up. The guys kept things low-key but you could feel the excitement in the air. As the ceremony was in the woodland the groomsmen were on hand to greet the guests and keep them going in the right direction through the gorgeous trees.
The Woodland Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the heart of the woods at Mayfield Farms, the first woodland ceremony at the venue and it was as stunning as you could imagine! The trees provided the perfect backdrop, with nature doing most of the decorating, and the aisle lined with all of their favourite people. Since they had done all of the legal bits before hand - Bex & Mike asked their good friend to be their celebrant, which made the whole thing feel even more personal and special.
There were no stuffy traditions—just genuine, heartfelt words that reflected Bex and Mike’s connection.
Their friends (they have some very talented friends) played live music during the ceremony, which made the whole experience feel extra meaningful. The live music, Bex's dress, the flowers and the woodland setting all had such a lush festival vibe. The confetti line along the treeline was one of the longest we saw all year and Bex & Mike handled it like professionals even if they were getting mouthfuls of dried flowers along the way!
Portraits in the Woods
After the ceremony, Bex and Mike snuck away for some portraits in the woods and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With the light filtering through the trees, the beautiful surroundings and Mike & Bex's chilled out vibes the portrait session was everything you’d want from a woodland wedding.
No awkward posing, just good laughs, lots of taking in the scenery, and a brief interval where they literally lost one of their heirlooms in an actual haystack and would you believe it...Mike spotted it! Lots of "phew"s later and we were all back at the bar!
The Barn Reception
The party kicked off in the barn and in the courtyard. The barn itself was decked out with handmade touches, from the decorations to the fairy lights and there was a very well enjoyed DIY help yourself bar that certainly helped the party spirit! It had that cozy, relaxed vibe that made everyone feel right at home.
The reception was filled with great food, lots of laughter, and heartfelt speeches from friends and family. But it wasn’t long before the energy shifted into full-on party mode because after their first dance Bex and Mike had a little surprise lined up...
Let the Party Begin
Just as everyone thought the first dance was over and the DJ would take over, Back Chat Brass burst onto the scene, bringing a massive wave of fresh energy. For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of seeing them before - they are a brass band whirlwind of covers of modern pop songs from "Bad Guy" to the conga! Needless to say they smashed it and were a hit with all of the guests.
Bex and Mike’s wedding wasn’t just about the two of them—it was about the love and connection they share with their friends and family. The whole day had this laid-back, fun vibe that was all about celebrating what really matters: love, laughter, and making memories!
We loved the festival, DIY vibe of their day and the woodland ceremony and would love nothing more than to return to Mayfield Farm again - we couldn't recommend it enough as a venue!
