Some weddings just stick with you—and Laura and Rob’s beautiful day at Wharfedale Grange was one of those. This wedding was always going to be something special!
Laura got ready upstairs in Wharfedale Grange’s bridal suite. While Laura and her girls popped the fizz and got ready for the big day, she was also keeping one eye on something...the cake.
Yes, Laura MADE her own wedding cake, and it was gorgeous. What a talented gal! At one point, she nipped downstairs in her robe to check on it, completely calm and collected. That little moment summed her up perfectly—creative, hands-on, and completely unflappable.

When it came time to say the vows, the ceremony room at Wharfedale Grange was all lit up and full of their friends and family. That twinkly light backdrop? Stunning. The whole creremony had such a romantic feel to it, and there were plenty of tears amongst the guests...and possibly behind our cameras during the vows.

After the ceremony, the sun came out to play, so everyone headed to the courtyard for confetti, drinks and family photos. Wharfedale Grange’s courtyard is such a vibe—it’s got a lush rustic but modern feel, and on a sunny day you can't beat it!
The couple’s portrait session into two parts, which worked like a charm. In the summer with the sun setting later we always think this is a great idea, it keeps the wedding day flowing and gives us a chance to play with the light at different times of the day. First, we explored the gardens in the afternoon sunshine and then, just as the sun started to dip, we snuck out for some golden-hour portraits with cocktails in hand.
When it was time for the reception, Laura and Rob made the most high-energy entrance ever. Everyone was on their feet, cheering and clapping as they danced their way in and ran through the tables for high fives and hugs from their guests. They ran straight to the cake before heading into their speeches—equal parts hilarious and heartfelt—before everyone sat down to enjoy their delicious meal. The cake was served as dessert and went down a treat!
When it came to the first dance Laura & Rob opted for the go hard or go home method of approach. Confetti canons going off jsut at the perfect moment in their song as spun around under Wharfedale Grange’s iconic absolutely massive disco ball. It was a bit of a rom com movie moment, and the energy carried straight into the dance floor with their band getting everyone dancing.

To be fair...the dance floor at Wharfedale Grange is always amazing, but this one hit another level.
Laura and Rob’s wedding was a dream to photograph.
