Eva & Connor’s Micro Wedding at Lodge Farm Weddings

Eva & Connor’s wedding was one of those days where every moment just felt so them —full of personality, and little surprises that had us smiling behind our cameras. They chose to have a microwedding package with us - so we got to spend four hours hanging out with the couple and thier guests. With just four hours of coverage, they nailed packing in all the important bits without ever feeling rushed. It was intimate, joyful, and just the right kind of chaos that makes a wedding so much fun to be a part of.

The Venue:  Lodge Farm Weddings

This Yorkshire barn wedding venue is such a gem! The gorgeous views, rustic barns, and cozy vibe were the perfect backdrop for their day. We’re already manifesting a reason to head back there again soon (so if you’re planning your wedding there… hi, we’d love to come along!).

The Ceremony: Confetti Chaos & a Runaway Veil

The day kicked off with the ceremony at the picturesque little church nearby. It was a simple and heartfelt ceremony followed by a hilarious confetti moment. Just as Eva and Connor stepped out of the church, Eva’s veil decided it wanted to be part of the show. A massive gust of wind sent it flying mid-Guard of Honour and watching the bridal party scramble to catch it while everyone cracked up was absolute gold. Luckily the couple have an ace sense of humour and laughed it off while they finished their confetti photos and greeted their guests.

Portraits & Family Photos: Making the Timeline Work

With their micro wedding package, Eva and Connor planned their timeline like total pros. After the ceremony, we whisked them off for some portraits around the churchyard and in the grounds at Lodge Farm. They made sure to carve out time for family photos to document their favourite people being there on their big day and then it was time to relax. The day worked out so that all the “photo moments” were covered early, which gave them the whole reception to kick back, enjoy the party, and soak it all in while we focussed on those all important candid wedding photographs of the couple and their guests having fun!

The Reception: Singing, Painting & Big Smiles

The reception was genuinely such a vibe. The big highlight? Groom Connor jumping up to sing with his band during the party. All the guests joined in for a big sing along and it was such a lush moment to capture!

They also arranged to have a live painter at the reception which was such a cool touch! The artist took a quick portrait of the couple as they arrived into the venue and then worked on their beautiful painting while the guests all came to watch. It was such a lovely personal touch and seeing the painting come to life as the party went on around the canvas was so cool!

Speeches Before Dinner: Laughter & Wine Spills

Eva and Connor’s speeches took place before dinner, which meant that we could capture them before we left them to party. The speeches were hilarious, heartfelt, totally them and the guests all loved every moment.

The funniest moment had to be when Connor managed to spil his red wine everywhere. The solution? A sippy cup. Yes, someone handed him an actual child’s cup to avoid any further disasters. Again a perfect example of how they moved through the whole day with a sense of humour and ease and no flying veil or red wine spillage was going to stop them smiling!

Wrapping It Up

Eva and Connor’s wedding was the perfect example of how a micro wedding can be just as vibrant and fun as a full-day affair. With Lodge Farm as their backdrop, thoughtful planning, and a day packed full of fun moments, it was an absolute joy to photograph. Eva & Connor, thank you for letting us be part of your day. We laughed (a lot), ran after veils, and had the best time capturing it all. And to Lodge Farm Weddings—we’d happily come back in a heartbeat.

To anyone planning a wedding, whether it’s a full day or just a few hours, know that magic can be captured in a short window. It’s all about what makes the day feel like you.

Ready to plan your wedding at Lodge Farm or somewhere just as dreamy? We’d love to hear all about it—let’s make it happen!
