Emma & Lewis - Woolas Barn York Wedding - Timeless elegance meets rustic charm

There is something to be said for a wedding day that starts with you walking into bridal prep and everyone is sat in front of gorgeous big windows and being offered a cup of coffee. Seriously, is there a better way to start the day? Emma and her bridal party to ready at her family home and they had the perfect, relaxed vibes going during the morning. Emma’s father was on hand to help keep the Prosecco flowing and mum (a fellow photographer) helping make sure that every corner of the home was photo ready! You could just tell that the whole family has an eye for detail and such great style!

Groom Lewis got ready at home with his groomsmen and parents with Micah popping over there to document the whole thing. After getting suited up, they made time for a stroll around the block to keep the calm feeling going before making a pretty cool exit and driving to the church in a red sports car!

Their local church was the chosen spot for their ceremony, and it was so clear that it was a place of real significance to them as a couple. On most wedding mornings I’ll ask the bride if they think their partner will cry…and Emma answered that she wasn’t entirely sure. Well Lewis made it only seconds into the ceremony before the tears came! Who can blame him, because even I was tearing up a little as they said I do.

After a little break to drive to the next location we arrived at Woolas Barn for the reception and OH MY DAYS what a stunning place! We’ve got to give a special shout out to Lindsay from LW Events for looking after us SO well all day!

Every corner of the venue was so photogenic, so after grabbing those all important family photos and detail shots of the decor we headed to the secret garden for Portraits. E&L could not have been better sports and were so up for everything we suggested even when I literally climbed inside the veil with them both…the images was oh so worth it though!

To top it all off we were blessed with a gorgeous golden hour later in the evening so we got to have a second portrait session and despite her very gorgeous satin shoes Emma was an absolute trooper and ran right through the field with us to find the perfect spot for the light!

Now anyone who has worked with us before knows we LOVE a dance floor…but we love a Ceilidh even more! So when E&L told us that was their plan for the evening we were so excited! Seeing everyone up on the dance floor is such a vibe and even people who have no idea what is happening (which is usually everyone) are laughing and smiling which makes our job so much fun. E&L decided to finish off the evening with a sparkler exit by the fire pits which just felt like the perfect way to end the day.

We are so grateful that we get to do this for an actual job and always drive home in the van with silly smiles on our faces…and this day was another huge reminder of how much we truly love weddings.
