When a good friend and a great fellow wedding photographer calls and asks you to help out at a wedding that is in a beautiful village, with a botanical theme and a vintage bus...you answer! Emily headed out to Charlotte and George's big day, and it was such a treat to photograph. From the church ceremony in central Harrogate to the relaxed reception at Sawley Village Hall.
Charlotte wore a gorgeous Ivory silk and lace sleeved dress, and the best part was that she rocked her glasses with it! It is so lovely to see brides embrace being themselves when they walk down the aisle! Every part of the day felt so personal and beautifully thought out, and can we talk about the vintage bus! To transport guests from the church to the reception the couple hired a beautiful double decker, and even provided sweeties as snacks for the road!
Arriving in Sawley, guests were treated to a glass of bubbly on arrival and greeted with a wonderful display of lawn games...which luck would have it people could actually play as the sun decided to come out for the afternoon! What made the reception so unique was the botanical theme that carried throughout all of the table decorations as Charlotte is a horticulturist! Sprigs of herbs on the table names, watering cans holding flowers and greenery decorated the whole room which was put together beautifully by their wedding stylist for the day, Kook Events.
After an afternoon sipping drinks in the sun and enjoying nibbles, everyone moved inside to avoid the rain which decided to gatecrash the wedding just in time for dinner being served and speeches being made! A few laughs, tears and jokes later and it was time for the first dance, which everyone got on the floor for! Family and friends gathered together to bust some moves with the happy couple, and I certainly left with a big smile on my face!
