Microwedding with a view at South Causey Inn // Richie & Carol

They say third time is a charm right? Well it couldn’t be more true when it comes to this absolute charmer of a wedding! After having to postpone not once, but twice, the third date that Richie & Carol had booked for their wedding got the go ahead…hurrah!

We knew that we were going to love these guys from our video call earlier in the year. Super duper chilled out, all about kicking back and enjoying the day, which is right up our street!

We met Richie & Carol at their gorgeous venue The South Causey Inn in County Durham a few hours before their ceremony in the old farmhouse. Firstly…if we could move into any venue I can honestly say it would be this one. For two reasons…one being that it is absolutely stunning and the second? We’ve eaten here a few times and the food is ridiculously tasty!

Carol got ready in the gorgeous treehouse room (complete with an actual tree in the middle of it!) with her lovely bridesmaids before being whisked away in the causey inn golf buggy to the ceremony. We can confirm as we got to ride in it later…it was as fun as it looks!

The old farmhouse is one of the more secluded spots within the beautiful grounds of the South Causey Inn and it has everything you would ever want. The 150 year old stone building is as impressive as it is charming and the interior design gives it a real cosy, intimate yet cool feel.

After a very long awaited ceremony and the I do’s everyone gathered for photos in the grounds but of course being that we were in the North of England…it started absolutely bucketing it down. Luckily everyone made it inside before they got too soggy for drinks and hugs (thank goodness hugs are back!)

When it comes to portraits there is no shortage of gorgeous spots available from indoors to outdoors, and my goodness that view! The grounds really are beautiful and because we are both from the good old North East it makes us really appreciate how beautiful our old stomping ground really is through fresh eyes.

Another unique and new addition to the venue are the outdoor dining pods…what a wonderful idea! Individual marquee style tents are dotted around the grounds allowing small groups and parties to dine in style while taking in the scenery!

Now when your groom is an actual magician you know he is going to be able to work a crowd…but as speeches go both his and the father of the bride speech left not a dry eye in the house. Unique touches meant that guests who sadly were no longer with us were not forgotten and there was such a beautiful sense of family and unity throughout the day.

After an evening walk around the grounds we said goodbye to our bride and groom and left them to enjoy the rest of their night (and the amazing hot tub in the treehouse room which we are very VERY jealous about)

Thanks so much for having us guys…you were a blast!
