Intimate wedding at the Black Horse Inn // Hannah & Andy

You know when you have driven past a sign for somewhere for YEARS on your daily route and never stopped in?

That was us with the lovely Black Horse Inn. The whole year that we lived in Brighouse we used to drive past the sign on our way to the motorway and so when lovely teachers Hannah & Andy said that was where they were getting married we couldn’t wait to finally check it out!

A traditional 17th century inn with all the features of the perfect cosy pub, there is just the perfect amount of space for an intimate celebration! Hannah & Andy both got ready at the Inn in the morning so the journey to the ceremony was smooth to say the least! Andy remained unflappable despite forgetting his socks and Hannah somehow navigated getting into a wedding dress with all of her bridesmaids, a photographer and two children and still looked completely graceful which as anyone who has ever gotten married will tell you is no easy job!

This wedding was such a perfect example of how family can take centre stage on the big day. Totally un phased by being joined mid ceremony by their son, and loving every minute of seeing the kids running around and enjoying themselves, Hannah & Andy were just absolutely beaming all day and we couldn’t help but smile too.

The sun came out for the drinks reception so that after the ceremony everyone could nip outside to enjoy the gorgeous terrace while sipping bubbly while we got to put our sunglasses on to snap the guests! They had guests from all over the country and the world celebrating with them...which really says so much about how lovely they are as a couple! The best man came from Cyprus especially and they even had guests who flew in all the way from Canada for the occasion!

The semi rural surroundings meant that we could pop out for a quick portrait session and still have Hannah & Andy back with their guests in time to be seated for their dinner…and the speeches…well there were plenty of tears but more importantly after such a long wait…lots of laughter and smiles.

Awards should be given to Hannah for quite honestly being the most relaxed bride ever...seriously nothing could stop this pair from having a lovely day! We stole them away for a quick second portrait session before letting them get back to their guests for the party.

This whole day really was about Hannah & Andy's family, friends and celebrating their love for each other and their wonderful children. A truly relaxed and fun filled day.
